Volunteers at Chicago Urban Art Retreat Center (CUARC) are social justice warriors. When they’re not volunteering at CUARC, they’re off creating change in the world. In fact, CUARC encourages volunteers to educate themselves on social justice issues and educate others so the world becomes a better place. On the Mission page, you can find a series of articles about various social justice issues to begin this educational process.
Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
